Subterranean Termite Swarms
Spring in Durham is prime time for subterranean termite swarms, especially after a warm rain. These pests emerge to find new nesting sites, often targeting the damp wood in your crawlspace or foundation. Look for discarded wings on windowsills and mud tubes climbing up your foundation walls. Keeping wood debris, mulch, and firewood at least twenty feet away from your home's foundation is your first line of defense against an infestation.
