Subterranean Termite Swarms
Spring in Greensboro brings warmth, rain, and subterranean termite swarms. These destructive pests nest in our damp clay soil and emerge in huge numbers looking to start new colonies. If you see hundreds of discarded insect wings on your windowsills or near your foundation, you have an active swarm. Keep mulch piled at least six inches below your home's siding and make sure soil does not touch any wooden structural elements to prevent easy access.
