Subterranean Termite Swarms
Spring in North Carolina is prime time for subterranean termite swarms. These destructive pests emerge on warm days following rain to find new nesting sites. If you see discarded insect wings near your windowsills or mud tubes on your foundation walls, you have an active infestation. Keep mulch piled at least six inches below your home's siding and foundation sill plate to deny them an easy path inside.
